Yesterday at the annual 40km Gaston Langlois time trial. A generally flat, 2 x 20km loop course with one bump that is about 300 meters.

Again, like at the Granby TT, the Opus/Powerwatts team had a great showing. In the B Sqad, we had 3 racers in the top 4, with Stephane Lebeau first with an amazing time of 55:05, Eric Provost third, and Gordon Stovel fourth. From memory, the time from Stephane puts him fourth overall among the cat 1's! Quite impressive for someone in his upper 40's.

In the A Sqad, we filled all three spots on the podium. Carl Dessurault and David Albert finished third and second respectively, and I managed to finish first with a time of 55:16, a close 15 seconds ahead of David. Michel Courval also did fine, clocking in under 1 hour. I believe Carl's course record of 52 minutes and some seconds set in 2002 was finally broken by pro racer Dominique Rollin by a few seconds. In the vet A category, I think his record will stand for a long time.

Last year, this time-trial was the highlight of my season, with a time of 54:13, best time overall. The conditions were similar to last year's, so it does confirm that I haven't reach my best form yet and that I'm still improving. The bad news is the Canadian National's TT is this Friday. What counts is that I'm still enjoying it, and I'll give it my 100% effort this Friday.
